Chloe Lopes Gomes's original dance, entitled "Break the Silence"

A raw performance to reflect Chloe‘s protest against discriminatory practices within ballet institutions. "The color of my skin would define my experience at the Staatsballett. In fact, some artistic directors don’t think Black ballerinas can be in a traditional Swan Lake at all because the presence of darker skin disrupts the “aesthetic” of an unbroken line."
